We offer pick-up services for gently used furniture located in Hagerstown, MD.

If you want to donate furniture and schedule a pick-up, please email a picture of the item to frontoffice@hagerstownhopecenter.com, or you can text the picture to our Donation Text Line (301-799-6024). You will be contacted to schedule the pick-up once the item is reviewed and approved.

Basic Information

If we are picking up furniture, we may be able to pick up other acceptable boxed or bagged items.

All items should be on the ground (or nearly ground) level. Our men are not permitted to carry items from the second floor (or above) or the basement for safety and insurance reasons unless it is a walk-out basement. If your building has a working elevator, then our men may take items from higher levels.

The driver has the final say regarding items we can and cannot take. The driver will check donated furniture to ensure that it is something we can accept and use.

If our men are entering your residence to carry out furniture, then you will be asked to sign a waiver giving permission for them to enter your home and releasing them from responsibility for any damage. Our men will be very careful with your items but note that they are not professional movers.

The furniture should be ready to go when the truck arrives. Please have drawers empty, etc. If a piece of furniture needs to be disassembled, we politely ask that you have it disassembled by the time of pick-up. All hardware and instructions should be given to the driver.

Upholstered furniture cannot be torn, stained, or covered in pet hair.

Moveable parts must be in working order.
Scheduling Information
To schedule a pickup, we request you email a picture of the item to officemanager@hagerstownhopecenter.com. You will be contacted to schedule the pickup if the item is approved.

We are currently only accepting furniture donations in Hagerstown.

The driver has the right to refuse furniture.
Donation Receipt
We will gladly provide you with a receipt of in-kind gifts donated for tax purposes. Please consult with your tax advisor or whoever prepares your taxes to ensure you list the correct information for the receipt.

It's important that you remember to include your name and address on the items list, especially if you make the list on your paper rather than filling out our form, for us to know where to send your receipt.
