“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord; thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a HOPE.” Jeremiah 29:11

Since 1955, we have been giving shelter to the homeless, giving hope to the addicted, giving food to the hungry, and giving God all the glory. Learn more about our Vision, our Mission, our Core Values, and learn more about our Administrator.

Letter from our
Administrator,
Aimee Izer

Aimee Izer is the Administrator of The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission

Matthew 25: 35-36 "For I was hungry, and you gave me food, I was thirsty, and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me."

We live in a time where we are so focused on ourselves and the small circle around us. We do not take time to see what is just beyond our view. Everyday there are people who are hurting, depressed, and cast down. Looking for anyone or anything to give them love and/or hope. These people are our neighbors, friends, and family.

At The Hope Center we want to share the Way for people to find the love and hope they are looking for. That answer is in the person of Jesus Christ. He is the only One who can give us the meaning and purpose in life that so many have been searching for.

Our purpose at the Hope Center is to be a physical picture of Christ - His hands, and feet here on earth. We're to be giving out comfort and relief to all who enter our doors: men, women, and children. Helping to meet everyday physical needs through food and clothing while sharing the blessed hope of Jesus as He is the only One who can transform lives.

Our prayer is that multiple men choose to make this change by entering our 13-month life recovery Foundations Program.
However, whether they do or not, all will have been shown the love of Christ and been given the message of true salvation.

We cannot do this on our own, we need help from you. Your prayers, time, and resources enable The Hope Center to be the light in the darkness. Guiding those in our community to the person of hope through the message of the Gospel, and a personal relationship with Jesus.

In closing, I leave you lyrics from the song “Beautiful Stranger” by Rebecca St. James. This is how I personally see everyone who comes through our doors, as “Beautiful Strangers.”

“Tell me now when did I see You in need of water?
Oh, and tell me now, when did I see you hungry on the street?
God, I hear you calling out to me
In the voices of the least of these
Calling me to reach beyond my world
To the beautiful stranger
Beautiful Stranger”

Thank you for serving with us to share HOPE!

Until He Comes,

Aimee L Izer
